🏰 Historic landmark: The area is famous for Barzan Towers, built in the late 19th century. These towers were used for defense and observing the horizon, especially to spot incoming threats or monitor pearl-diving activities.
🏡 Traditional roots: Historically, the town consisted of mud-brick houses and small settlements, similar to what you see in your old photo from 1955.
🌴 Modern growth: Today, Umm Salal Mohammed is a quiet residential area with farms, villas, and growing infrastructure.
📍 Name meaning: “Umm Salal” roughly refers to a place with large stones or rocky formations, reflecting the local landscape.

A place where old Qatari heritage meets modern suburban life.
