Um er-Rasas, also known as Kastron Mefa'a or Mephaat in Arabic, is an archaeological site located in Jordan, about 30 km southeast of the city of Madaba. It is an important historical site and is known for its well-preserved ancient ruins, which date back to the Roman, Byzantine, and early Islamic periods.

One of the main attractions at Um er-Rasas is the Church of Saint Stephen, which was built in the late 7th century AD and is considered one of the most important Byzantine churches in Jordan. The church contains a large mosaic floor that features depictions of animals, plants, and other scenes.

Another notable feature at Um er-Rasas is a Roman military camp that was built in the 3rd century AD. The camp was used to house soldiers who were stationed in the region to protect against Bedouin raids and other threats.

Um er-Rasas was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004, and it is a popular destination for tourists who are interested in history and archaeology.
