Todaiji Temple,Nara

Todaiji Temple,Nora
 Special Thanks to Yuka for the nice card;
 Todaiji (東大寺, Tōdaiji, "Great Eastern Temple") is one of Japan's most famous and historically significant temples and a landmark of Nara. The temple was constructed in 752 as the head temple of all provincial Buddhist temples of Japan and grew so powerful that the capital was moved from Nara to Nagaoka in 784 in order to lower the temple's influence on government affairs.

Tula 2007
    The building of the People's House, which now houses the Young People's Theatre, is famous for being the place where the Soviet regime was proclaimed in Tula and the province on December 7, 1917. Much more interesting is the fate of the Church of the Prophet Elijah, which we see in the background of the old photo. The wooden church existed on this place as early as 1627. In 1755 a two-storey stone church was built. It was the Cathedral of Tula from 1924 to 1943. The building was taken away from the church for workshops. At present the church has been returned to the faithful.

Susan Veller and her bunny mice

Susan Veller and her bunny mice

 Thanks to Alesia for the nice card from Russia 31/07/2021

    Susan Weller is the creator of Holly Pond Hill, an exquisitely detailed watercolor world of gentle creatures. The artist herself is originally from Texas and has lived in a rural setting. Her paintings display a Victorian style with a touch of Provence - soft pastel tones, brown, burgundy, lilac, pink, green. "Stuffed" interior with all sorts of cute knickknacks, lots of colors and natural materials.

The paintings are imbued with family warmth, love, celebration of everyday life.

Mount Fuji

Mount Fuji

 Thanks to Ai from the nice card , sent 5th,August 2021

    Mount Fuji, Japanese Fuji-san, also spelled Fujisan, also called Fujiyama or Fuji no Yama, highest mountain in Japan. It rises to 12,388 feet (3,776 metres) near the Pacific Ocean coast in Yamanashi and Shizuoka ken (prefectures) of central Honshu, about 60 miles (100 km) west of the Tokyo-Yokohama metropolitan area. It is a volcano that has been dormant since its last eruption, in 1707, but is still generally classified as active by geologists. The mountain is the major feature of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park (1936), and it is at the centre of a UNESCO World Heritage site designated in 2013.
