    Maiko and the Gion district are closely associated with each other, as Gion is one of the most famous geisha districts in Kyoto where maiko and geiko (the term for geisha in Kyoto) entertain guests at tea houses and exclusive events.

    The Eiffel Tower is an iron tower located on the Champ-de-Mars in Paris, named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel. Erected in 1889 as the entrance arch to the 1889 World Fair, it has become a cultural icon of France and one of the most recognized structures in the world. With more than 7 million visitors every year, it is the most visited paying monument in the world. The Eiffel Tower has been listed as a historical monument since June 24, 1964 and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991.

    Tunisia's biggest historical tourist attraction is the mammoth, golden-stoned amphitheater of El Jem (also sometimes spelt El Djem) – once the stage for bloody gladiatorial battles during the Roman era.

Even for travelers in Tunisia who are mainly here for a sun-and-sea holiday, this UNESCO World Heritage Site, halfway between Sousse and Sfax, is a must-do.
